Sí. Todavía. No tenemos claro quién los ve, pero los MTV Video Music Awards aún existen. Y ya han publicado su lista de nominaciones para este 2019.
Como si se tratara de una teen movie, la realeza del espectáculo musical tiene sus reinas y ni toda la actitud, ni toda la producción, ni toda la ferocidad han sido suficientes para destronarlas. La villana del pop Taylor Swift se codea con la bella Ariana Grande en la cima con diez nominaciones. Las siguen Billie Eilish y Lil Nas X con nueve cada uno.
Como ya sabíamos que sucedería en el terreno del habla hispana, la Rosalia se destaca con tres nominaciones, incluida mejor coreografía por “Con altura”…con lo cual no sabemos si estar tan de acuerdo.
Llama la atención el interés por impregnarle a los premios algún propósito en beneficio de la humanidad o la inclusión, pues existen dos nuevas categorías: Best K-Pop (“Korean popular music”) y Video por el bien.
Pese a que los MTV VMA ya no son, ni serán, lo que una vez llenó de emoción nuestros corazones, sí nos da mucha emoción ver a algunos enormes artistas (favoritos) como H.E.R. o Anderson .Paak… Quizá no es muy apropiado mencionarlos, pero ¿qué mas da? Si no hay pasión, no hay nada.
Y ya sabemos que los verdaderos ganadores son Republic Records y Columbia Records quienes se llevaron 25 y 24 nominaciones cada uno.
